Written and illustrated by Pamela Conder
This engagingly written book relates Pamela's adventures while pursuing her
studies into flying fox behaviour. The book contains much useful information on
the biology of flying foxes, written in a way which can easily be appreciated by
the layperson.
Pamela vividly describes her experiences capturing flying foxes in the Torres
Strait Islands, studying the captive population of grey headed flying foxes at
Healesville Sanctuary, poring over flying fox skins in the museums of Europe and
slogging through sewers in Hong Kong seeking elusive specimens.
Pamela's beautiful paintings and line drawings of flying foxes and the other
creatures which share their habitat complement the text perfectly.
